City of Aurora Xeriscape Garden Master Plan

The Aurora Municipal Center (AMC) Xeriscape Demonstration Garden is a community resource that offers a demonstration of xeric plants and landscaping techniques suited to the Aurora and Colorado Front Range environment. Our purpose is to educate visitors on proven methods of xeriscape and provide ideas for applications at their own homes or businesses.

The intent of the 2014 Aurora Xeriscape Garden Master Plan was to clarify the vision for the Garden while attempting to set a framework for years to come. By identifying key existing strengths and weaknesses, the master plan process has provided an opportunity think about future potential. By reaching out to all of the key past, current, and future garden stakeholders, a comprehensive amount of information was compiled that will serve to inform new projects while also assisting with solving current problems related to management, horticulture, community outreach and overall use. The 2014 City of Aurora Xeriscape Master Plan is a positive step for a beautiful civic asset that endeavors to achieve all of the stated goals and objectives while staying true the stated mission.
